fizzbook feedback

Now that you have had a chance to be part of the trials using the Fizzbooks, I am interested in your views about how the project was for you.

1.
a) What did you like best about using the fizzbooks? tell me why this was…
b) What did you like least about using the fizzbooks? tell me why this was…
Other thoughts?

2. Tell me what you thought about the way the fizzbooks allowed you to receive and give feedback
a) from teacher about your work
b) from your classmates about your work
c) from you to your classmates
d) to yourself after the design project was over and you were able to look back on your work.

3. Describe to me what you felt about getting your design thinking and ideas captured by the escape fizzbooks.
a) what was made easy and

b) what was hard

4. Please finish by adding any other thoughts or feelings about using the fizzbooks and making your clock that you havn’t already written down….

1.a) the thing i liked best about using the fizz books was taking the pictures of different stages in my design instead of having to draw all m y ideas out or write about them. it saved alot of time.

1a. I liked the freedom we got with them, we deidnt have to wait forevefryonwe in the class. Like if we finished one box we could move on ahead.

b.I didn’t like how the server didnt always work, I feel this held us back a little. Had this been better we would have had more time in the work shop.

2a. I think the feedback from the teacher was good as it was always there once you were finished, you didnt have to wait for thje teacher to walk around the room.

    b. I liked the bit where we got feedback from our classmates as it gave us a 3rd degree apart from the teacher.

    c. I liked doing this as I feel it gave them a younger persons view.

    d. You could have a quick timeline view of all the things you had done in this project. also this also meant that it was much harder to lose anything

3a. It was easy as we were on computers and we could upload pictures and make it look better than it would have looked if I had drawn it myself.

    b. It was hard as at some points it was really confusing, but once we found what we had to do it was really easy compared to what we originally thought.

    4. I tthink that if the server connection was better the fizzbooks would be the perfect companion to any craft and design pupil.

1a) I liked the fizzbooks because it was easier to draw and to take pictures of our clocks and what tools we used.

1b)I didnt like how we never got connected and it took ages for us to log in and by the time we logged in it would be the end of the lesson.

2a)I think the feedback was good from my teacher and it made me think more about my clock and helped me get through the stages of my clock.

2b)The classmates gave me great feedback and they thought it was a great idea and the were very honest towards me.

2c)I think i gave honest and intresting feedbacks and i enjoyed it very much because it was so much easier.

2d)I think is was great that you saw your work all the way through the weeks from start to finnish it looked amazing seeing what my clock was before i had done anything to it and then when i finished it looked great.

3a)It was easy because we didnt have to draw it all we had to do was uploud it and it was easy.

3b)It was very confusing at times and it got very hard but we got through it very easily when we found out what to do.

    4) I enjoyed making my clock because it wasnt like anyone elses i wished the fizzbooks started at the start of the lesson because we would have got on with our work faster. My clock had a few mistakes but i have learned what i did wrong and i hope to do better in the future.

i really enjoyed the time spent along with the Fizzbooks kindly given for borrowing by Rowihna. One of the great things about the Fizzbooks were that they were a great design and smart. they did almost anything a laptop or computer can.

1.a) the best thing about the fizzbooks were that you could draw on to the computer because it was touch screen
    b) However, the bad thing about the fizz books were that it took so long to log on to the page we were meant to go on to
2.a) I don’t think that the feed back from the teacher was very useful because nobody knew you could and also that the teacher could of spoke to you instead
b)Getting feedback from your friends was helpful because they could tell you from across the room if they like it or not
    c) Same as the answer before
    d) To yourself was good because you could reflect on what you were feeling before you had started to make the design
3.a)It was made easy by the fizzbooks that you wouldn’t have to take pictures from a camera and send it to a laptop then look at it it was just there
b)There wasn’t anything that made it hard

  6. #6 by ewan on January 26, 2010 - 12:36 pm

1a) the best thing about the fizzbooks was the touch screen.
1b) the thing i liked least about the fizzbooks was the time it took to log onto e-scape.
2a) it let you see how the teacher thought you could improve
2b) it shows there feelings about your work
2c)i could teel people what i thought
2d) there was not much point in it
    3a) touch screen, less time
    3b) nothing really
    4) it took really long to log in

  7. #7 by Gregor on January 26, 2010 - 12:37 pm

1.A. i liked how using a fizz book is more fun as it’s on a computer and you don’t have to write everything as you can make audio or video logs.
    B. i didn’t like the drawing aspect on the fizz books. it was often hard to draw and you could never get it what you wanted it to look like.

2.A. it wasn’t very good for getting comments from your teacher as they would have to log onto your account to leave a comment.
    B. a bit better, but they would have to go onto your one.
    C. above, but oppisite.
    D. hard to judge your own work, better if pupils or teacher assesed yours.

3.A. taking photos of design ideas, like plants or differnt types of wood or metal.
    B. Drawing your ideas, hard to draw it on a fizz book, it just never looked right, you never felt happy about it.

    4. i’m not sure, fizz book are good for writing notes and taking pictures of insperations. But they arn’t good for drawing, where your own hand is better.

1)a The best thing about fizzbooks is the way you could add pictures from the internet to your facebook because it showed exactly what inspired you
1)b The worst thing about the fizzbooks was how long it took to log on because it wasted time
2)a It let the teacher show you what you did wrong
    2)b It gave helpful critism
    2)c Gave helpful critism
2)d Showed me what i could do better next time
3)a You didnt have to draw out your design
3)b When you had to upload pictures
    4) The fizzbooks worked well though it took ages to get them working and logged on.

1a)the thing i like most was the drawing bit called artrage i lke this because of the wind range of colours and tools.
b)i didn’t drawing on the fizz book because it was really hard for the fizz book to pick up what i wanted to do .
2a)it was hard for my teacher to leave comments because she had to log on to be able to send a comment
b)a bit better but they would have to go on your account to leave a comment
c)i had to go on to my classmates account to leave comments
d)it wasn’t that hard to leave comments on my own project.
3a)it was good for taking pictures for our desings.
b)when i had to draw my clock.
4)i thought that the fizzbooks didn’t really work it was really hard to login and to draw on the fizzbooks.

this is not Mrs smyth this is harry
    1. a) one of the things i liked best about the fizzbooks was the touch screen it was also simple to use.
b)i did not like the escape program it was complicated to use it was hard to login and hard to share info with the other students.
2.a) i never recieved feedbck from anyone i do not know if this was just me but i think this applies to all parts of this question
    3.

    1. a) the best thing about the fizzbooks how you could use them as a touch screen.
    b) the time it took to log in.
    2. a) it was ok because you could see what to improve.
2.B)it was good because you could see what your friends liked about it.
2.c) i could tell people what i liked about it
2.d)it tells you what to improve on..
    3.a)touch sereen.
b)getting things from the web cam to the fizz book profile.
    4. they were good and easy to work most of the time. and some things were hard like uploding photos

  12. #12 by Duncan on January 26, 2010 - 12:42 pm

1.a) The thing i liked best about using the fizzbooks was the touch screen on it and it was funner to draw on.
1.b) The thing i disliked about the fizzbooks was that the voice recorder was very quiet and you had to almost shout into the microphone and you would still hear it quietly.

2.a) I don’t think that the fizzbooks were a very good way to see what your teacher put as feed back because you had to go to portfolio view and see what your tracher wrote and whenever I tried to open up portfolio view it rarely worked.
2.b) I thought it was quite good for getting feedback from your class mates because you could just swap round fizzbooks and type the message in or use a voice message but the voice recorder wasn’t very good.
2.c) It was quite easy to write a comment on someone elses because you just swap fizzbook and type the message or use a voice message but voice recorder wasn’t very good so it wasn’t that good.
2.d) I thougth it was quite good to look back on your own work because you could go onto portfolio view and look at everything and look at the teachers comments on your portfolio. But the portfolio often took a while to open up or it just crashed.

3.a) The thing that made it easy to capture your ideas using the fizzbooks was that you could take pictures or draw pictures on artrage.
3.b) The thing that made it hard to capture ideas using artrage was the fact it was quite hard to draw with the touch pad.

1a.) I liked being able to have the fizzbooks to record our voices and what our opinions were so that the teacher could listen and help us.
1b.) I didnt like taking the photos all the time and doing the folio on the fizzbooks as i would prefer to draw them on paper and write about them on paper.
2a.) The fizzbooks were a good way to give feedback as the teacher could go on our folios and write what she thought about our design and what we should do next.
2b.) It wasnt really that good for our classmates to give feedback as the only time we got to do that was if we were told to and even then we had to swap fizzbooks so i had my partners fizzbook and my partener had my fizzbook.
2c.)As i said above we needed to swap fizzbooks and that was quite bad, it would of been easier to just tell them and it would take less time.
2d.) Well we never really got to look back over our designs and folios so i think it wasnt needed to give feedback over the fizzbooks.
3a.) The easiest part of getting our ideas on to the fizzbooks were taking photos of our designs and all you needed to do was press a button.
3b. The hardest part was drawing the designs into the fizzbooks what i ended up doing was drawing them on paper then taking a photo of the drawing which took ages and it was a waste of time.
4a.) I think that it would of been easier to do our folio on paper as it would of saved alot of time and we wouldnt need to stop all the time to take photos and recored our voices saying what we think as it wasnt really important.

1a. I liked the fizzbooks beacause they were so good to use and very easy to plan my work. I liked loved the way we could touch the screen instead of using the mouse, and that good also easy to draw.

1b.The bad thing about the fizzbooks was that it didnt have any internet. if it did it would be easier to just get pictures of the net and paste them on your work.

2a. i think that is such a idea about marking your work on the computer. Its so much esier for everyone

2b.I think that waas cool to coz u could mark each others work.

2c.It was cool to coz u could write whatever you want about there work .

    2d.Yes it was very good

3a. yes i think it was very easy just the way it was set up i would like to use it again

    3b.it was not hard atall

    4a.

1a. The thing i liked best about the fizzbooks was that i could take photos of my design at different stages.
1b. The thing i didn’t like about the fizzbooks was recording my voice.
2a. The fizzbooks were a good way to give feedback as the teacher could check our work and write or speak about what she thought about our work and what we could achieve.
2b. Our classmates did give feedback but just once or twice, we only gave feedback if we were told to and then we would all swap fizzbooks.
2c. I didn’t give much feedback as i was too shy and i was off a lot so i didn’t get a lot done on my fizzbook. It is a good way to give feedback.
2d. We didn’t really get to look over our work once we were finished our designs so we didn’t give any feedback on our folio’s, i thought we didn’t need to.
3a. The easiest part was taking photos or typing about our design.
3b. The hardest part was trying to think about what our design would be and draw it on our fizzbooks. I didn’t know exactly what to draw.
    4. I think it would of been easier to draw our designs on paper and then put a lot of information about our design in our folio and then we could look back at our work later on in 3rd year. We couldn’t look back at our work on our fizzbooks as they were sent away.

  16. #16 by sarah on January 26, 2010 - 12:45 pm

1.a) the thing i liked best about using the fizz books was taking the pictures of different stages in my design instead of having to draw all m y ideas out or write about them. it saved alot of time

1.b) the thing i liked least about the fizz books was that it took a long time to log in and load different things. my fizz book also froze and the key board didnt work for a few lessons wich made it hard to work, but once you got onto the thing you wanted to use on the fizz book it was much quicker than using paper to show what you were doing.

2.a) i think the fizz books made it easier for your teacher to give you infomation and advic eon your design but sometimes it was hard to find the coments that had been left for you. i think it would have been easier the teacher just telling you what they thought instead of wrighting it all down on the fizz books.

2.b) i think for your class mates to give you feed back the fizz books were not needed, as they were all sitting next to you anyway, they also told you what they thought before writing it anyway.

2.c) again i think the fizz books were not needed in order to give your class mates feed back as you could just tell them and it would take half the time

2.d) i thought writing down your thoughts on your design on the fizz books was a good idea as it lets you look back when you do your next design and see what you could do to make that design better and learn from the mistakes you made on your last time.

3.a) i thought being able to take pictures of other peoples clocks and your own sketches, and being able to see all your design ideas at the same time made it easier to decide what you wnated to choose to do on your clock.

3.b) it was hard to get logged on to the fizz books wich made yiou fokes more on getting logged in instead of thinking of new ideas and designs for your clock.

    4. i think that the fizz books are a really good idea but they are not yet very practical to use in all class rooms on all projects, because of the time it take to load and log in to things. some days we wouldnt gwet anyting at all done because of problems with the fizz books, wich made the project take much longer .

1a. I liked how we could take pictures and write feedback like we are doing now. I liked this because we didn’t have to write on paper which gets lost. We could take photos as well which something we could’t do before.
    b. Using the fizzbooks was bad because they were a bit hard to use and were unreliable alot which was bad for us. We needed to use them alot but they were working at some times but at only some times. I would say we would progress faster without them but they were good.

2a. It was good that the teacher could give us feedback without talking to us.
    b. It was good that classmates could give us feedback so that if they were talking to you normally they would not change it.
    c. I could tell my classmates what I thought about there work without them hearing it there and then.
    d. It was good giving feedback for my clock.

3a. Taking photos and the audio was good because we didn’t have to type.
    b. The audio was a bit funny and I did have problems with the camera.

    4. I think the fizzbooks were a good experience for everyone.

the best thing about the fizzbooks was the art because it was really easy to use and im not very good at drawing and it allowed you to edit pictures on it.
the worst thing about the fizzbooks was that they took ages to connect to the laptop and some never even got onto the page.
the fizzbooks were good because they allowed the teacher to see your work and could comment on it. my classmates could also comment on my work which was good and i could comment on their work to help them. i was also able to see the changes that i had made to my design.

you were able to make a spider diagram on all the ideas you had and you were also able to get pictures to inspire you but i found that hard to do.

the fizzbook helped me to decide on my final design and it also let me keep track on how my clock was doing.

1a. I liked the fizzbooks because you can do free hand drawing and you can evaluate your work and find the bits you need to improve

    b. didnt dislike anything about the fizzbook

2a.the teacher can tell you what you need to improve

b.you can get other peoples opinions on your work

    c. i can tell them what i think of there work

    d. you can remember about the different steps to make your design, and can help in upcoming tests, exams

3a. it was quit easy to record your ideas and thoughts

    b. i didnt find anything hard about capturing my ideas on the fizzbook
